The Field

About Miracle League
Miracle League’s innovation is its custom-designed field with a cushioned rubberized surface, wheelchair accessible dugouts, all with a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheelchair-bound or visually impaired players. Only an acre is needed for a field, accessible bathrooms and parking. The minimum amount of land needed for a field alone is 15,000 square feet.

Miracle League provides an important service opportunity to “buddies”—mainstream children who play baseball, youth group members, and others, including MLB players and teams. Many Miracle League communities partner with other groups, including young children’s groups and veterans groups, who also benefit from the specially designed field. Some MLB teams have helped build multiple fields – The Pittsburgh Pirates have helped launch eight!
